Oct 12, 2015 Howards Lane Winery re opens this Saturday 17th October 2015 Damien & Justine Monley to reopen the Cellar Door at Howards Lane Vineyard, Southern Highlands Saturday 17th October 2015 Howdy,I hope this email finds you really well and in good health.Justine and myself in November last year made a ‘tree change’ and moved from Sydney to Welby in the Southern Highlands where we purchased Howards Lane Vineyard. Since the purchase we have been reasonably productive. We recently had our fourth child, making it 4 children under 4 years of age, opened the cellar door building as a bed and breakfast and have had our first vintage of wine from the Vineyard which is the second oldest vineyard in the Southern Highlands. For those of you that know us personally from our days of owning and operating Flat White Café in Woollahra and Madam Char Char in Surry Hills you will know that we are absolutely passionate about the hospitality industry. It gives us a huge amount of joy to not only introduce ourselves to those that don’t know us but also to reengage with each and every customer from our previous hospitality days in Sydney. The story line from here on in hopefully involves yourself and all of your friends and colleagues that enjoy great casual style food, boutique cool climate wines and warm hospitality. On Saturday 17th October, we are opening our little Cellar Door with our first vintage and a small food component, which we are hugely excited about. To go alongside our wines we will be serving delicious aperitivos. Aperitivos will change weekly. Some of the small plates we will be offering, with around 8 on offer each day are: Sourdough, dukkah, whipped feta Grilled peach, buratta, rocket, prosciutto, merlot dressing Pan con tomate – toasted sourdough rubbed with tomato and olive oil Grilled Haloumi & mint salsa Salt cod brandade, burnt toast, lemon Cauliflower fritters, green tahini Duck liver parfait, chicken crisps, apple chutney, croutes Red Leaf Farm salami and truffled cheese brioche toasted sandwich Fennel and sumac baked salmon Local Cheese with honeycomb Asparagus, soft eggs, Ortiz anchovies, herbs Salmon gravlax crostini, peas, tarragon Salad of pea, feta, mint, zucchini, za’atar Wood grilled field mushrooms, goats curd, basil, 16 hour Rangers Valley Beef Brisket, mustard, soft rolls All food plates will be aperitivo size to comply with our current cellar door license, which allows us to serve light refreshments. We are in the process of applying for a special events DA that will allow us to hold wine dinners.We would be very grateful if you could please forward this email on to as many people as you can who reside in the Southern Highlands or visit, as word of mouth is going to be our one and only marketing and PR program.
